Scoring above 95% in CBSE and ICSE board exams is not about solving every random guide book. It is about total mastery of the core textbook, rigorous presentation of steps, and solving official sample papers under strict timing.
1. Treat NCERT / Prescribed Textbooks as Ground Truth
Every single board question is grounded in the textbook. In Physics and Chemistry, underline key definitions, reaction conditions, and numerical formulas directly in your book. In Mathematics, solve every single worked example and NCERT Exemplar question.
2. Master Step-Wise Marking Rubrics
Board examiners award marks per step: formula stated (1/2 mark), substitution with units (1 mark), algebraic manipulation (1 mark), and final answer with correct unit boxed (1/2 mark). Never skip steps or jump straight to calculations.
3. Solve Previous 10 Years' Papers (PYQs)
Board patterns repeat with slight numerical changes. Solve at least 8–10 full previous years' papers. When marking, strictly penalize yourself for missing units or untidy diagrams.
